Filmmakers, the last deadline for submissions to this year’s Isle of Man Film Festival is fast approaching. This Friday 1st July marks the end of the final phase of the submissions process for IOMFF16.
Filmmakers can submit their short film of 15 minutes or under to the Island festival for the late rate of $45 (approx. £30) in any of the categories of Fiction, Comedy, Documentary or Animation.
Following next Friday’s deadline, all films will be watched by a panel of specially-chosen judges who will shortlist 3-4 in each category to be screened on the Isle of Man during the festival on Sunday 11th September. The awards ceremony will follow in the afternoon with prizes given by BBC and Telegraph film reviewer Mark Kermode. As well as each of the category prizes, there will be an Audience Award and a Best of the Fest award.
There are cash prizes of £250 for the winners of each category again this year, as well as £250 for the Audience Award (that is chosen by the audience of the morning screening of the shortlisted films) and another £250 for the Best of the Fest Award. Which means that filmmaking teams can win up to £1000. We’re also offering a trip to the Isle of Man for the festival to one of the shortlisted filmmaking teams.
