Thursday 7th September
Movie Quiz at Noa Bakehouse
£10 per team (of up to 6)
This event sees the return of last year’s sell-out Movie Quiz, only bigger and better – join other film fanatics and movie buffs in battling it out for some top prizes and the title of IOMFF Quiz Team of the Year 2017.
Got a friend or colleague who knows their Spielberg from their Stallone? Start assembling your teams now – this event is set to be popular, so be sure to book ahead of time. And – most importantly – don’t forget to start thinking up your finest film-related team names!
Team entry is priced at £10 for a maximum of 6 people, and places can be reserved here or purchased from Noa. There is a licensed bar at this venue and food will be available to purchase on the night.

Saturday 9th September
Screening: ‘Isle of Man Arts Council Award’
10am-11am at the Manx Museum
IOMFF17 is honoured to host a screening of shortlisted films for the Isle of Man Arts Council Film Prize, followed by a Q&A with filmmakers at the Manx Museum.
All of the films in this category were shot on the Isle of Man with Manx crew. The winner will be chosen at the screening by one of our special guests and the award will be presented by Mark Kermode at the gala awards on Sunday.

Saturday 9th September
Mark Kermode Presents…
7.30-11pm at the Broadway Cinema
Mark Kermode, film critic for the Observer, renowned broadcaster and patron of the Isle of Man Film Festival returns this year to present a very special evening at the Broadway Cinema.
Mark will present a review of the year: knowledgable, opinionated and passionate, this is set to be a very entertaining evening with the UK’s leading film critic.
The evening will include tributes to two men who have made a big impact on the film industry: Steve Christian, one of the pioneers of film on the Isle of Man, and Sir John Hurt, legendary actor who was a special guest of the festival 2 years ago.
At 9pm, we will host a screening of All the Little Animals (1998), dir. Jeremy Thomas. This film was selected by Mark in tribute to Sir John Hurt and Steve Christian.
Tickets are £10 and can be purchased from the Villa Marina Box office from Thursday 10th August 2017.
Sunday, 10th September
International Short Film Competition Shortlist with Mark Kermode
10 am – 1.30pm (with a 30 minute interval) at Broadway Cinema
Join us at the Broadway Cinema in the Villa Marina for a screening of the 15 finalists in our International Short Film Competition.
Films will be shown back to back with opportunity for refreshment breaks at the interval. Viewers will also be able to take part in the Audience Vote.
Winners of the four main categories – Documentary, Comedy, Animation, Fiction, plus the Audience Vote and Best of the Fest (chosen by none other than our patron, Mark Kermode) – will be announced during our Awards Ceremony at 5pm.
Tickets for the screenings are free, but must be reserved through the Villa Marine box office [link] from Thursday 10th August.

Join us for our festival finale as the winners of our International Short Film Competition 2017 are announced.
Mark Kermode will present the awards to the winners of each category: Comedy, Fiction, Documentary, Animation, IOM Arts Council Best Manx Film, Audience Award and Best of the Fest (chosen by Mark himself).
This is a popular event and tickets are limited. Priced at £5 through the Villa Gaiety, this is an event not to be missed!

To conclude a jam-packed festival weekend, we’ll be back to our hub at the Claremont hotel for a well-deserved drink.
